This subject is so interesting to me because I see this resistance with myself and the majority of my patients. We all know the stats; meditation reduces anxiety, helps us deal with stress, reduces depression, helps heart rate stabilize etc. We know there are lower rates of disease among those who meditate. Meditation is free and available for anyone of any socioeconomic status.

There can be many different reasons why we come into periods of intense fatigue and these reasons should be addressed but what about short term survival? If a cup of coffee can at least get me through this one class or this meeting, then isn’t that worth it? Ok, yes, but to what end?

On this day one year ago, I was sitting at my computer in a coffee shop (which I am currently doing) laying the groundwork for Wisdom Natural Medicine. I was waiting for my medical license to arrive and had lots of extra free time so I decided to start creating. When I was in school for Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), I didn't know exactly how I wanted to practice, I didn't know if I would work independently or get a job.

When our bodies are facing stress, our imbalances and weaknesses start to show. When using Traditional Chinese Medicine to diagnose and treat, we look at the symptoms to discern how these imbalances are showing up and make a constitutional assessment. When the diagnosis is made, the patient is treated not only for the symptoms but also in a holistic way.

I used to get so bitchy with hunger just a few hours after my last meal. I would get dizzy and have brain fog. It was so weird. I was always planning my day around having my meals timed right, having snacks with me everywhere and just constantly thinking about food.
